Top 100 Netflix Documentaries to Watch Right Now (#60 to #56)

Rolling Thunder Revue. Take Care of Maya. The Crash. We’re into Martin Scorsese territory now, and the hits just keep coming. These docs are sitting at 92-93% on RT, and they earned every percentage point. I’m enjoying running these docs while also working on other things. It puts my brain into overdrive. Normally I’m all about focusing on the movie in front of me… but something about documentaries just puts my work into over drive. (Want to know what is really nitro for my brain? Watch How It’s Made over on Hulu. Did I want to know how a shower drain was made? No… no I didn’t. But did I enjoy learning how it’s made? YES, YES I DID.)

A family takes their daughter Maya to the hospital, and what follows is a nightmarish battle with child protective services that tears the family apart. The questions it raises about medical authority and parental rights are genuinely terrifying. You’ll pick a side quickly, and you’ll feel strongly about it.

Netflix Documentary #58 — The Crash

92% on RT. A car carrying three young adults slams into a brick building at 100 miles per hour. Two die. One survives. The documentary unpacks what happened, why it happened, and the aftermath. I picked this one because the storytelling is tight and the emotional weight is real. It’s a 2026 Netflix original that deserves more attention than it’s gotten.

Maggie Nichols, ‘Athlete A,’ drives the narrative. It’s infuriating, it’s empowering, and it’s one of the most important #MeToo era documentaries made.
