2023.06.17 97 MINUTES
Yes, this movie looks cheesy. But the reason I’m mentioning it over and above Extraction 2 and also a Tom Hanks movie (which everyone, always, loves… someone please explain this to me. But anyway.) is because it’s scripted to run in real time. 97 minutes is 97 minutes of time, and no more. And I was a sucker for that format in 24 (which did all its episodes in hours within a TWENTY FOUR hour cycle. 24 shows… 60 minutes each… half of which were at night. The other half during the day… loved it. Particularly season 1 and season 2 which were prescripted for the entirety of the season in one go. Later seasons? Not so much. And they flagged as a result. But I digress. 97 minutes. Looking forward to it.
2023.06.16 EXTRACTION 2
Extraction 1 was a hoot. That is all you need to know… and this movie, my friends, is on a need to know basis. So, yeah… all you need to know is hootness. So watch 1, then watch 2. Luckily, both are available via Streamberry… (I’m sorry, Black Mirror reference glitch, my bad.) I mean, Netflix. So, go watch already!
2023.06.16 ASTEROID CITY
Asteroid City is the science-loving American’s top holiday destination. This small desert town plays host to the 1955 Junior Stargazer and Space Cadet conventions. In the dusty desert heat, sudden spectacular events interrupt the program and put Asteroid City on the map. (I’m now hearing that maybe the release date slipped to the 23rd? Still chasing this one down.)
