This coming week Patreon members will get access to two podcast videos – we’ll be doing Arrival, and Talk to Me.

2024.01.26 THE END WE START FROM (THEATER)
Jodi Comer can have all my movie budget. Drama, Sci-Fi, Spy movie? OK. I’m in. You win. Please, take my $12. I am not even 100% clear what this movie is about. Is it a disaster film? A sci-fi? A drama? I think the answer would be yeah, I think so… a bit of all three. Anyway, I’ll be watching this very soon.

2024.02.09 HANDLING THE UNDEAD – (NO IDEA)
This movie looks like a powerhouse. Is it a realistic take on a zombie movie? Definitely looks like it. Sort of reminds me of the movie The Cured – which I absolutely adored. Would the police come to nab your until recently dead loved ones? What would that look like? It would be horrible is what it would look like… that’s for sure. Only glitch? It was supposed to have released the better part of a week ago, but I can’t find it anywhere. If you see it flitting about out there, I’d love a heads-up.

2024.02.02 THE PROMISED LAND – (THEATER)

Mikkleson is always worth a watch. And this looks like a fantastic historical drama. I can’t wait.

2024.02.09 THE TASTE OF THINGS – (THEATER)

How many historical / food / love story movies are flipping possible? I mean, we eventually need to run out of plot lines… right? Eventually. Has this entire genre jumped the shark? Pardon? Juliette Binoché? Excuse me sir, what? You say Juliette Binoché is in this particular film? Like I was saying, you absolutely cannot have enough historical, food, based love stories in the world. You just cannot. Especially when helmed by the great herself. Cough.

2024.02.09 OUT OF DARKNESS – (THEATER)

Previously on Spotlight Worth Watching Right Now:
ZONE OF INTEREST – Single best World War II movie? I’m still reeling.
EILEEN – Everything might not be quite what it seems with Eileen
BLUE EYE SAMURAI – literally cannot stop talking about this series…
PAST LIVES – low key, slow burn, dialog driven film. Basically Before Sunrise??
SALTBURN – Brilliant. Brilliant. Enjoyed every minute.
