Russian Doll (Season 2) – April 22nd
I loved season 1 of the Netflix show Russian Doll. It was a looping, non-time travel, dark, Groundhog Day sort of experience. And it said a lot of things about a lot of things. All while being entertaining – and relevant, and very irreverent. In a word? Glorious. So, it is with great excitement that I announce that in just a couple days (22nd) we get season 2! So great.
Gaslit – April 24th
Gaslit sort of reminds me of the movie, The Trial of the Chicago 7. The enormous star-power, the amazing story. All of it. And the story of Martha Mitchell (played by Julia Roberts) is an amazing story about how this famous socialite wouldn’t be quieted. (And there have been a number of great podcasts telling her story the last few years, and the wider story of Watergate as well.) It’s a mind blowing debacle of crazy proportions. I’m sure this will be a fantastic watch.
The Northman – April 22nd
Apparently The Northman is massive, historical epic based on the legend of Amleth… who was the original source for Shakespeare’s Hamlet. I mean, Alexander Skarsgård, Nicole Kidman, Claes Bang, Anya Taylor-Joy, Ethan Hawke, Björk, and Willem Dafoe?? I mean. Are any of these people Irish? Do I care? Apparently not… because it sounds like this thing is going to be a bloody mess.
