Now to this weeks new recommendations:

BARDO 11.18.2022

Been waiting for this one ever since I interviewed Omar Levya regarding his part in the movie Windfall. Bardo, the latest movie from brilliant writer and director, Alejandro G. Iñárritu – who… you know already, from the films, The Revenant, and Birdman. When talking to Levya about Bardo, which he was a part of… he actually didn’t really understand what the movie would be about. All he knew was that it was a chance to work with Iñárritu, and he had to take it! Can’t say that I blame him.

Bardo should be in theaters now… but will hit streaming December 15th I believe.

BONES AND ALL – 11.23.22

Timothée Chalamet, full stop. Personally, I think Chalamet is the best indie actor on the planet today. (Never mind the fact that he just lead Dune to over $400 million at the box office.) Beautiful Boy, Dune, Don’t Look Up… etc., etc. Regardless, this film looks like a story about a young woman attempting to survive out on the extremes of society. And a disenfranchised drifter who meets up with her and they head off to a thousand-mile journey. And all of this transpiring during the 80’s. But all their running leads them right back to their pasts.

NANNY – 11.23.22

This looks like the amazing international horror – His House. (Which, still to this day carries a 100% on RT.) I’m intrigued. Nanny, a psychological horror about a woman who recently arrived from Senegal and is hired to care for an affluent family’s daughter. There, in New York city, she is haunted by her son that she left behind. But she’s hoping this new opportunity will allow her to bring him to this new world. Problem? Her employers have an extraordinarily volatile home life. Soon the hauntings begin… both in her dreams and in reality.
