THiNC. Movie Spotlight #75

THiNC. Movie Spotlight #75 – well, after 2 years of successfully dodging Covid, graduation season has apparently done my family in. My father-in-law got it… and the math added up that he picked it up during my daughter’s high school graduation. (But why didn’t we get it?) Then after 12 different Covid tests within my family, my daughter has tested positive. Currently I’m injecting bleach into my blood in order to kill it… because, well, you know who said it’d work. Because what do I have to lose? So, who knows, things might get a little spotty around here for a bit. Heck, maybe I’ll have way more time on my hands for movies. We shall see.

And, also – thanks for helping to keep this site running day in and day out!

Crimes of the Future – June 2nd

In theaters June 2nd – Crimes of the Future created a stir with walk outs – but simultaneously, a six minute standing ovation at Cannes. Apparently the film, horror – starring Kristen StewartLéa Seydoux and Viggo Mortensen – features body transformations and mutations in a dystopian universe. So, yeah, there might be a lot to storm out about and also applaud? I’m a well documented fan of Kristen Stewart’s (no, not Twilight, but rather Clouds of Sils Maria, Personal Shopper, etc.) and definitely won’t be missing this one… definitely will be going to the theater here soon.

Dashcam – June 3rd Theaters and Digital

Literally know nothing about this movie and I’m already all in. Sort of a Locke movie spin off but of the horror/thriller variety? Personally? I love the immersiveness of the cinéma vérité, cam style. But I know that isn’t for everyone. (Heck, I don’t think it’s for many people but me! haha.) This looks like it could be an awesome little movie. Can’t wait.

Clark – Currently on Netflix

Apparently, this unbelievable story about Clark Olofsson, is the enormously controversial criminal who inspired the clinical phrase, “Stockholm syndrome.” You had me at hello.

The Stars At Noon – Now? Later? No idea

Literally, everything online is telling me that this movie is available to watch today. Specifically, since May 25th. But I literally can’t find it anywhere. Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? The Stars at Noon, Bueller? And I can’t even seem to find it over on Justwatch either. Huh. So weird. So I’m posting this now as a LOST DOG notice… anyone finds the puppy, give a shout… alright?

Last Seen Alive – June 3rd

“Last Seen Alive” stars Gerard Butler as a man whose soon-to-be ex-wife mysteriously vanishes at a gas station. The film delves into the town’s criminal underbelly while running from the authorities in a race against time to find her. Normally, I’d call cheese… but the way this script seems to be playing the stereotypes against one another here. Divorcing couple. Missing wife. Obviously innocent husband… the best play? Have him be guilty of making her disappear! hahahah. Um, sorry if I inadvertently guessed it right.
